counts on funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Here’s
how money helps:
•
A donation of $1.00 helps us distribute enough food for 4.5 meals.
•
Sponsors or underwrites fundraising or volunteer recognition events.
•
A $ 30.00 gift translates into food for 135 meals. How? Funds
buy discounted food then combine that food with food donations
for remarkable economies of scale.
•
Money pays for gas and maintenance on Food Bank vehicles that
help distribute of 62,000 pounds of food each day and 1.3 million
pounds each month.
•
Dollars can purchase emergency food that TAFB sends to agencies,
which then provide that food to their neighbors in need.
•
Funds pay the salaries of staff and contractors who keep the Food
Bank operating as one of the most efficient charitable organizations
in Tarrant and surrounding counties.
•
Donations help print, photocopy, and pay postage for crucial information
about programs and projects.
•
Pays electricity for two 50,000 cubic-foot freezers, two 20,000
cubic-foot coolers, warehouse and parking lot lights, forklifts,
air conditioning and heating.

how to give money to Tarrant Area Food Bank to fight hunger:

charitable organization, donations are tax deductible.

At Albertson’s, Kroger, and Tom Thumb, you can automatically generate
a contribution to Tarrant Area Food Bank every visit by swiping
your rewards card available through these generous grocers.
•
Make a donation with a credit card at our website, www.tafb.org,
through an encrypted Secure Socket Layer technology. We accept
American Express, MasterCard and Visa.
•
Increase the effect of your contribution by utilizing your company’s
matching gift capabilities. Check with your Human Resources department.
•
Donate by phone with a credit card. Call 817-332-9177.
•
Sign up for Direct Feed, which allows direct payment
to the Food Bank via automatic withdrawal.
•
Make a reservation for—or a contribution to—a fundraising event
such as Empty Bowls or ˇAdiós, Hunger!
