Hunger with Friends - Become a Volunteer
Find
the best fit for you and your friends. We have a volunteer
who can talk about each role! Call volunteer services at the Food
Bank: 817 332 9177.
Be an event volunteer. Give your time
for special events such as Empty Bowls and ¡Adiós, Hunger!
Be an office volunteer. Assist office staff by performing data
input, filing, reception duty, and other clerical tasks.
Help with language differences. Translate with Spanish-language
spoken and written literature pieces.
Teach nutrition with Operation Frontline and educate low-income
families about nutrition.
Be a Chef Educator with Operation Frontline and enlighten adults,
children, and teens how to cook healthy, low-cost foods.
Be a Quality Control volunteer and inspect food for damage and
repack for shipment in the Quality Control Department.
On a Wednesday night, volunteer with your group and pack food
for our BackPacks for
Kids program.
Be a host or hostess. Hold a birthday or holiday party and, in
lieu of a gift exchange, have guests bring food or funds to donate
to TAFB. Make it really easy and have the party in TAFB’s Community
Room. Even tour the facility!
Be a driver! Drive your vehicle and with your CDL or delivery
experience, transport items to the Food Bank.
Are you a morning person looking for a physical workout? Help
agencies load their trucks when they pick up food at our warehouse
between 7:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
Volunteer to organize a presentation about hunger in our community
for your favorite organization, PTA, or club. We have a Speakers
Bureau volunteer who can speak to your group and bring along an
introduction video, PowerPoint presentation, and/or print materials
for your next meeting. Call today to schedule, 817-332-9177.
If
you support Tarrant Area Food Bank in any way,
please
know that we and our network of partner charities
are
very grateful for your generosity!
