are welcome any time. If you are with a food company, please see
our page on Food
Company Donations.
Food
donations may be dropped off at Tarrant Area Food Bank's
warehouse, 2600 Cullen Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107 between 8:30
and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and between 8:30 and 2:30

Community
Food & Fund Drives
Workplaces, churches,
schools, youth groups, civic organizations, apartment complexes
and others are encouraged to sponsor Food & Fund Drives any
time of the year. Tarrant Area Food Bank sponsors two major
Food & Fund Drive programs:
- Summer Hunger Buster Drives in
the spring and summer to stock shelves when children are out
of school and unable to access the national free and reduced-cost
school lunch program. In addition, food contributed in
the Fort Worth area to the National Association
of Letter Carriers' Food Drive each May
is donated to Tarrant Area Food Bank.
- Fall/Winter Food & Fund Drives
to feed families from September through February. The Food Bank
supplies organizations holding Food & Fund Drives with suggestions
for successful drives and collateral printed materials. Special
activities sponsored by the Food Bank include the TURKEY
TRUCK DRIVE whereby we park our refrigerated truck at your
building for employees and customers to drop off frozen turkeys.
You can register
your Food & Fund Drive with us and request collateral
materials by completing the FOOD
& FUND DRIVE ACTION form.
Large food collection
boxes (3' x 2' x 2' when assembled) can be picked up
from the food bank. To arrange for a pick-up time, please
contact Susan Frye, Community Events Director, at 817-332-9177
ext. 110 or send an email.
Sorry, the food bank doesn't have the resources to deliver boxes.

Tips & Forms for Food & Fund Drives
include, among other things, a list of ideas for events to help
raise food and money during drives, the Food Bank Fast Facts flier,
and forms for ordering food drive materials, the Food Bank Turkey
Truck and transportation for large food collections (750 pounds
or more) and for registering teams for Kick the Can.
Order Up! (virtual
food drive) is popular in workplaces. Through Order Up!,
employees donate cash for meals and thus don't have to deal with
the logistics of storing and transporting food. Click
here for the Order Up! Form.
Food
donations are accepted Monday through Thursday between
8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30

Cullen Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Protections for Food Donors
The law protects food donors.
The federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act of 1996 protects businesses,
nonprofit organizations and individuals who donate food in good
faith from civil or criminal liability should such donated food
later cause harm to a recipient.
Tax
benefits are also available to businesses that donate
food. Current tax laws allow generous deductions for contributions
of ordinary income property to charitable organizations.
