Southlake Turkey Drive

Northeast Tarrant residents are invited to join Southlake Town Square, the City of Southlake and area businesses in supporting the Tarrant Area Food Bank Turkey Drive. Drop off FROZEN turkeys from 10 a.m. to no later than 2 p.m. at Southlake Town Square near the pavilion at the corner of Fountain Place and State Street off Hwy 1709.  The Tarrant Area Food Bank refrigerated Turkey Truck will be there to accept donations. The Food Bank could distribute 15,000 turkeys if they were available.

Second Annual Tarrant Area Food Bank Can Food Drive & Car Show Competition will be presented by HIP N HOT Teen Magazine and K104FM from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverside Community Center, 3700 E. Belknap Street, Fort Worth, TX 76111. For information, call 817-871-7670.

 

Meet celebrity DJ Host and Car Show Judge Kiki from #1 HIP HOP K104-104.5FM. With an entry fee of 10 cans of food, enter your cars and trucks to compete for Best Area Show Car & Truck.  Eight First Place Trophies Awarded & Eight Different Categories Chosen.

An autographed Tony Romo Dallas Cowboys Jersey goes to the person who donates the most cans between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Receive a special edition Can Food Drive T-shirt for a donation of five cans.

 

  

November & December 2007

Help Firefighters Extinguish Hunger

The public is invited to drop donations of boxed and canned foods at fire stations throughout Tarrant County through December 31. 

Fire Departments collecting food for Tarrant Area Food Bank are in the following cities: Arlington, Azle, Bedford, Blue Mound, Colleyville, Crowley, Euless, Everman, Forest Hill, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, Keller, Lake Worth, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, River Oaks, Saginaw, Sansom Park, Southlake, Trophy Club, Watauga, Westworth Village and White Settlement. 

Persons or organizations wishing to drop their donations at their local fire station are advised to call ahead for public hours at the station.

 

 
FOOD DONATIONS -- Most Needed Items
 

For Families Canned Meats (Tuna, Chicken, Stew, Chili), Canned Vegetables, Peanut Butter, Canned Fruits, Cereal, Powdered Baby Formula, Dried Soup Mixes, Dried Beans, Boxed Pastas, Rice.

Non-Food Items:  Diapers, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Soap, Shampoo, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels.

Backpacks for Kids:  Nonperishable, shelf-stable single-servings of Beans & Franks, Tuna Packs, Soups, Pastas, Fruit Cups, Pudding Cups, Cereal, Milk, Oatmeal, Granola Bars, Raisins, Trail Mix, Peanut Butter Crackers, Juice.

FROZEN TURKEY DRIVE

Super convenient for commuters and noontime lunch crowds in downtown Fort Worth - Drop off frozen turkeys in Sundance Square in front of Capital One at 505 Main Street. Look for a Kroger truck and the turkey carrying a protest sign. 

Tarrant County employees will collect frozen turkeys between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of their Holiday Food Drive for the Food Bank.

Bedford Turkey Truck Day

Drop off FROZEN turkeys from 7 a.m. to no later than 2 p.m. at Central Fire Station, 1816 Bedford Rd., Bedford, for a Tarrant Area Food Bank refrigerated truck to pick up for the Food Bank's Holiday Food Drive.

During November and December, fire stations in Bedford and other Tarrant County cities will accept nonperishable foods for the Food Bank.
