FOOD BANK ADVOCACY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Tarrant Area Food Bank advocates for people struggling with hunger through its Community Outreach Services and through involvement with elected officials.
Our Community Outreach staff provide information on and help in applying for nutrition and health benefits. We also work with communities to facilitate communication and coordination among social service agencies and charities with the goal of creating hunger-free communities in which nutrition assistance and other aid is available to any community member in need.
In the public policy arena, we work with the Texas Food Bank Network to inform our local elected officials of our services to their constituents and the importance of state and federal legislation dealing with nutrition assistance and other programs that alleviate hunger and poverty.
