Summer Food Drives

Be a Summer Hunger Buster!  Adults and kids can bring nonperishable food to Tarrant Area Food Bank, or better yet, organize a food drive in your workplace, neighborhood, scout troop, social, hobby or youth club, professional association or place of worship. Food you collect will help low-income families during the summer to provide breakfast and/or lunch for their children who depended on school meals for their basic nutritional needs.

Most Needed Foods: Canned chicken, ham, tuna, salmon, chili, stew and hearty soups, canned vegetables, canned fruits, rice, pasta, cereal, dried milk, juices, peanut butter (no glass jars), breads, snacks and non-refrigerated pudding.

To register your food drive and obtain publicity materials, fill out the Food & Fund Drive Action Form.  If you have questions, please contact Susan Frye, Community Events Director, by email or  phone at 817-332-9177, ext. 110.

Donations of dry or canned pet food, seed or pellets will help households keep their pets and their health.

Sometimes, pet owners decide they can't afford to feed their pets and must give them away.  Families and senior citizens struggling with hunger sometimes choose to give their own food to their pets. This can compromise pet owners' health.
