Hunger Action Month 2010

30 Ways to Fight Hunger in 30 Days
Activities with Family and Friends
- Host a potluck party, and ask guests to bring food or monetary donations to the dinner party!
- Download coloring sheets for your kids from www.hungeractionmonth.org and display them at your office or on your fridge!
- Grandparents’ Day is September 12. In honor of grandparents, send a donation to support your food bank’s Senior Meals program.
- Recipe Share! Share a favorite recipe via email with 10 friends, and encourage them to take a My Way pledge at www.hungeractionmonth.org
- Read a book about hunger to your children, such as Uncle Willie and the Soup Kitchen.
- Set an empty plate at your table. Let this be a reminder to you (and your family members or roommates) of those who are at risk for hunger.
Actions in the Workplace
- Brown Bag Benefit: Ask co-workers to bring brown bag lunches next week, and donate money saved to your local food pantry or Tarrant Area Food Bank.
- Post a 30 Ways in 30 Days Calendar on office fridge!
- See if your employer will match employee donations to a local pantry or shelter or Tarrant Area Food Bank for Hunger Action Month.
Actions in Places of Worship
