FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Our primary feeding program is the distribution of food to our network of hunger-relief charities that provide emergency groceries, meals and snacks to Texans in need.
Food distribution is the feeding program that must have a fleet of refrigerated trucks and licensed commercial drivers to pick up surplus fresh, frozen and dry product from food manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers. It is the program that needs dry and refrigerated warehouse space and trained staff to inventory and temporarily store the donated food. It is the feeding program that needs the time and help of thousands of volunteers each year to sort, inspect and re-pack food that will go to our partner charities.
Distribution of surplus food by regional food banks like Tarrant Area Food Bank is also what saves billions of pounds of nutritious food from going to the dump.

Food industry companies seeking to donate product to Tarrant Area Food Bank are asked to contact:
Jim Macphearson, Food Industry Liaison, (O) 817-332-9177, ext. 121, (C) 817-269-2269. More information about the Food Bank's partnerships with the food industry is in the Food Industry section.
