HEALTHY CUISINE FOR KIDS
“Healthy Cuisine for Kids” helps child nutrition professionals develop culinary skills needed to prepare and serve healthy and appealing meals. It is not a nutrition course. It is about food preparation and service. However, some basic nutrition is included in each module to help participants understand the nutrition principles of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) and how they are applied in the seminar and in meal service. Program participants are involved in interactive learning through four lessons, observing five culinary demonstrations, preparing healthy recipes in the five culinary laboratories, and evaluating the recipes for quality and presentation.
“Healthy Cuisine for Kids” is designed as a 3-day seminar for school nutrition professionals, and has been adapted for agencies and other organizations that work to nourish the children in our community in a variety of settings. Available in English. |
