GoHealthy! is a program of Tarrant Area Food Bank that provides information on food, nutrition and other basic health topics every month. Look here for tip sheets and great tasting, easy to prepare recipes you can download and share for FREE! These materials are a great resource for families in your community who want to shop smarter and eat better even when their budget is tight.
Food Bank Partner Agencies can also pick up paper copies of these materials for their clients in the Agency Waiting Room of the Distribution Center. Please take only as many as you can distribute.

It's that time of year again! The holiday season is in full swing with seemingly endless to do lists and parties, hearty winter fare and sweet indulgences around every corner. Come January, we'll find out how much the celebrating has caught up with us. From over stressed to over eating, the holidays aren't always easy. Not to fear! September: National Food Safety Month
With a significant rise in foodborne illness in the United States over the past 10 years, good food safety practices, at home and in the public, are more important that ever. Foodborne illness is more than just a belly ache. The CDC estimates that each year approximately 1 in 6 people get sick from pathogens spread through food. Of those 48 MILLION people, 128,000 are hospitalized for their illness, and roughly 3,000 die from illnesses they contracted through food. These tip sheets will show you just how easy it is to keep your food--and family--safe.
