PROGRAM ACTIVITIES

2010

Community Kitchen

Super Bowl XLV

During the Super Bowl of 2011 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Community Kitchen chefs and graduates will be involved with catering at the stadium.  Vedat Lika, instruction chef, and Manny Vasquez, production chef, will help Ricki Epstein, owner of Affairs to Cater, with catering a tailgate party for NFL team owners.  Class 11 alum Tanner Peters, who works at Buttons, will join other members of that restaurant's staff in catering an event.

Graduates

Two alums, Ralf Diaz, Class 8, and James Brodie, Class 12, were hired in 2010 by Legends Hospitality to work in food services for the Dallas Cowboys organization at the new stadium in Arlington. They will work at the stadium during the Super Bowl.

Culinary Class 12 Update

The class graduated November 6, 2010.  Students did their two-week internships at the following sites:  SafeHaven, Harris Hospital, Cowboys Stadium, Tokyo Cafe, Milano's, Fresh from the Oven, Ol' South Pancake House, Billy Bob's, Day Break Cafe, and Hatch's Corner.
