Big Read, Big Inspiration

Feb. 29, 2012

You are invited to kick-off this year's Big Read at Tarrant Area Food Bank Feb. 29, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Join us as the Master of Ceremonies, Actor Wendell Brooks, sets in motion a morning guided by the words from Tarrant Area Food Bank CEO Bo Soderbergh and Honorable Mayor Betsy Price as well as a theatrical performance. A group reading led by Walter Dansby, Superintendent, Fort Worth Independent School District and Gleniece Robinson, Fort Worth Library Director will also be held. Door prizes will be given away and refreshments will be served.

Texans planning festivities for football's Super Bowl Sunday are invited to donate food, funds and/or volunteer time to the largest annual Fort Worth/Dallas food drive benefiting the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas and Tarrant Area Food Bank in Fort Worth.

The Mayors' Council of Tarrant County invites you to help Tarrant Area Food Bank by purchasing a keepsake cookbook available NOW for $20.00! All proceeds will go to TAFB to help feed children in need.

Recipes are from local Mayors, County Commissioners and Judges as well as from local celebrities including Chef Jon Bonnell of Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine and baseball great Nolan Ryan.
